Orlando Bloom was born in January 13th, 1977. The son of a business woman/ writer and a Professor of Law at the University of Kent. His father, Harry, a South African, battled the apartheid as a lawyer beside people like Nelson Mandela.
The courageous man even spend 3 months in prison, where he wrote a novel, Whittaker's Wife, which exposed what was going on in South Africa at that time. Orlando Bloom's heroic father passed away when Orlando was only 4, leaving Orlando's mom Sonia, to raise Orlando and his sister Samantha alone in Canterbury. When he was 13, Orladno was told that Harry Bloom was not his real dad. His real dad was Colin Stone, his guardian.

Orlando decided to be an actor at the tender age of 12. When he was 16, he went to the London and spent two seasons at the National Youth Theatre. After that, he won one-year scholarship to the British American Drama Academy. Before the Lord of The Rings, Orlando bloom had already appeared on TV and in the Movies. He had a part in the TV drama Casualty as well as a part in Stephen Fry's titular Oscar Wilde.
He went on to further his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

His list of injuries sustained include a broken back, from landing on his back after falling 3 storeys from a roof. That led to one crushed vertebra and three fractured vertebra. They thought he would never walk again. Later on in life, he added cracks to his skull (3 times), cracks on his ribs, both legs, an arm, finger, toe, nose, wrist.. you would never have guessed it seeing him as Legolas, sliding down the castle steps, or in is battle scenes in The Kingdom of Heaven, Pirates of The Caribbean among his other movies
