Study Tips for most subjects
Studying for an exam begins in the classroom. If you are lucky enough to be taught by the teacher who is going to set the paper, pay special attention to the lessons in class. The teacher would probably spend more time covering the areas he or she thinks are most important. Likewise, the teacher when setting the paper, would probably set some questions on the topics he or she thinks is important.
In some cases, the teacher might even give some hints as to what might appear in the exam. Still, spotting questions is rather risky. It is wiser to at least go through the entire textbook at least twice if possible.

Studying effectively from the text book
- Read through the entire chapter or the section you intend to cover.
- Close your textbook. Take an exercise book. In your own words, write a summary of what you just read.
- Read through a second time, this time with a highlighter or a pencil, to highlight the phrases or facts in that section.
- Take out the exercise book and copy down the highlighted facts into your exercise book, in point form.
