A beautiful woman with an amazing voice, she sang much about love. Yet her personal life was heartbreaking. Whitney Houston fell in love with bad boy Bobby Brown whom she met in the 1989 Soul Train Music awards. He wooed her and married her on 18 July 1992 and bore him a daughter. He spent jail time and the couple used drugs. Her husband laced marijuana with rock cocaine.
She divorced Bobby Brown and won custody of their daughter.
While she was also a movie star, she will be especially fondly remembered for her music.
She sang of love. Saving all my love for you. An early hit that brought her to fame.
She starred in the movie Bodyguard, alongside Kevin Costner. From that movie, came this touching song, I Will Always Love You.
